Are they really accurate when, in many cases, over half the comments are made by the blog owner?

I would think it counts to the blogger in either case. I haven't written enough entries to receive a comment but if I had a further thought on an entry it would seem meaningful to add a comment.

A question remains for me, will blogging and reading blogs become meaningful or will the blog become an empty ship is space?
